In June 2019, the UK became the first major economy to pass a law on net zero emissions by 2050.
Research revealed more than half of Britons believe we, as a nation, aren’t doing enough to tackle our impact on the planet, with around a quarter of people saying it’s the responsibility of business’s.
In 2019 Law Distribution adopted a business sustainability model to become more environmentally friendly and reduce our carbon footprint. We:

- Consider who we do business with
Low emission vehicles are included in our HGV procurement process. 100% of our car and light commercial vehicles will be zero emission vehicles by 2030.
Our Staff
- Ensure all unnecessary lights and computers are turned off
- Consider if we really need to print documents
- Do away with single use plastic cups or mugs by bringing in their own
- Make use of video conferencing to cut down on trips for face-to-face meetings
- Align our business with others that share our environmental values and goals
Our Facilities
- Electricity is from 100% renewable sources.
- In 2019 we converted our first warehouse to LED lighting and have since converted all our warehouses to LED.
- 50% Increase in electric powered forklift truck use from 2019 – 2022 (vs gas)
- New electric fork trucks are powered by lithium-Ion batteries.
- Review of solar panel installations underway (subject to consent)
- 40% Natural roof lighting contributing to EPC rating of A.
- Eco & Marine friendly cleaning products used in facilities maintenance
- Waste management ensures waste is disposed of efficiently
Our Fleet
- HGV fuel incorporates Dynaflex technology lowering CO2 emissions.
- 100% of our fleet are super-efficient Euro 6 vehicles which release a minimal amount of CO2.
- Vehicle tracking systems report on driver behavior and vehicle efficiency back to our transport team.
- Regularly replacing vehicles reduces operational downtime, retains drivers and reduces our environmental impact.
- TRAILAR solar mats on our Palletline distribution vehicles help power tail lifts and charge batteries. This reduces CO2 output by 1.25 tonnes per vehicle each year.
- SAFED training is incorporated into our drivers' inductions.
